Information about Jeremy Renner and Kyle Chandler Are “Part-Time Gangsters” in ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Trailer
While you’re waiting for new episodes of Taylor Sheridan‘s western series Yellowstone, why not check out his star-studded Paramount+ show? Today, the streamer released a new trailer for Mayor of Kingstown, a 10-episode family drama coming in November (and no, it’s not a Mare of Easttown spinoff).
Mayor of Kingstown centers on the McLusky family, who are influential power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan. The corrupt town’s only thriving industry is its local prison, which brothers Mike (Jeremy Renner) and Mitch (Kyle Chandler) help run from the shadows.
“Wherever you’re from, go back,” Mike warns a newcomer in the trailer. “You won’t make it here.”
McClusky matriarch Mariam (Dianne Wiest) describes her sons as fix-it men and “half-gangsters.” From there on, the preview shows them engaging in everything from gunfighting to dodging explosions. According to the show’s synopsis, Mayor of Kingstown tackles “themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality,” providing “a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.”
The series also stars Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, and Tobi Bamtefa. It’s produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, and will be executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and Michael Friedman.
Mayor of Kingstown and 1883 — a Yellowstone prequel premiering in December — are Sheridan’s first Paramount+ series created under his multi-year deal with MTV Entertainment and ViacomCBS, which includes scripted and procedural series for the streaming service.
You can check out Renner and Chandler’s escapades when Mayor of Kingstown premieres on Paramount+ on Sunday, Nov. 14. Scroll up to watch the official trailer.
